One of the central cities for Alaska, Whittier, is a great place for outdoor activities. It's a small town that gives you the warm feeling of staying at one of the local inns. Visit the famous Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel, and see its history as being the second longest highway tunnel in America. See the Begich Towers, that were used to house soldiers after WWII.
Spend some time along the harbor and catch fish or take a boat out on one of the many tour operated companies to catch more fish. Walk around the outskirts of Whittier Alaska and see all of the great wildlife it has to offer.
